For those of you playing at home I have a GoogleTV based Logitech Revue. It is a thing of beauty, being snappy, well integrated and with added App goodness.
However, over the past few days I have been less than pleased with it.
Why? I hear you ask?
Mainly it relates to the recent move by Google to bring all their Market type stuff into one brand: "Google Play". This meant of course, that all Android Market apps needed to be updated to reflect the new branding and the new, integrated services.

So one of the big announcements at this years Google IO was the release of Angry Birds for Chrome. For those of you not in the know, Angry Birds is a game that started out on the iPhone and has come to represent the sort of simple, yet addictive game that has been so successful on mobile devices. Using a catapult you launch a series of birds with different talents at constructions filled with green pigs who have stolen the birds eggs.

I'm a little cranky so I thought I'd get it off my chest:
Let's start with Google shall we?

Come the 7th of November I'm going to taking my second international trip of the year with a trip to San Francisco to attend the Wave Summit at Googles' San Fran Office.
The Summit is going to be a meeting of the minds between the Google developers still working on Wave (and doing a bang up job of getting the Wave In A Box project up and running) and the small but slowly growing community of external developers, testers and associated bods (of which I am one) that want to see the Wave idea continue to grow.

I finally had enough time to sit down and have another crack at the Android App I'm building based on the very cool planning alerts api.
This new release has added basic google maps integration. Once you have successfully returned a list of alerts you can hit the menu button and select Map to view the various alerts.
How to use it:

Hey Google,
Look, I have to say, I love the Android. It represents all that Apple is not, a truly open platform that lowers the barrier of entry for new developers across multiple industrial segments (you know, phones, tablets, tv's and so on).

Well, here's my first Android App. Essentially it's a recreation of my Google Wave Robot - OpenAusBot, well at least the House of Reps member search.
Right now, it just does basic member searches based on Federal Seat, returning name, party and date elected. Still working on the ImageView.
Further plans are to build postcode search and geo-search.
What I don't have (yet) is a real android phone, so if anyone wants to download the apk attached to this post and make sure it works (it uses the Android 2.0 SDK), that would be great, thanks.
