Samsung Internet TV SDK == Fail
So, in my ongoing desire for playing with shiny convergance toys I thought I would have a look at the the Samsung Internet TV SDK.
Bleh.
The first thing that annoyed was the Windows only requirement. But sucking it up and switching to my windows partition I tried to install it.
Bleh. Required a full reboot of the system to finish intalling it. It's 2011 people, not even Microsoft makes you do that anymore. Hell the only people who make you reboot after a software installation anymore seems to be Apple.
So, after the reboot I attempt to run the Visual Editor. It crashes, and stays crashed. Cannot launch it at all. Try and launch the SDK tool, nope same issue, will not start and displays the same error message over and over again. Sigh. So I figure I'll have a look at the emulator. That opens, halaluhla. Except now only two buttons on the remote work and I can't minimise or close the window. I actually have to go into the Task Manager and kill the emulator process.
Yeah after that I quickly uninstalled it and consigned it to the dustbin.
Oh yeah and all the documentation for the system is hidden behind a registration wall. You can't view it until you sign in. Something tells me Samsung isn't too enthusiastic about building up its developer base.
